Shin-pei Tsay

Shin-pei Tsay’s experience converges at the intersection of design and policy for an inclusive and sustainable public realm. She is Director of Policy for Cities and Transportation at Uber, where she leads a program focused on creating a sustainable, inclusive, and multi-modal urban future. Prior to joining Uber, she founded Make Public, a social impact analysis firm that specializes in the public realm and was executive director of Gehl Institute, a non-profit that advocated for public life and public spaces. Shin-pei has also served as the deputy executive director of TransitCenter, a national foundation focused on improving urban transportation; director of the Cities and Transportation Program under the Energy and Climate Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace; deputy director at Transportation Alternatives in New York City, and COO at Project for Public Spaces. Shin-pei served on the NYC Public Design Commission from 2016 to 2019. She taught urban design at Columbia University and Parsons School of Design and is currently a director on the board of the national non-profit ioby.
