Rachel Jans is assistant curator of Painting and Sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. At SFMOMA she has organized a broad range of permanent collection and special exhibitions, including New Work: Nevin Aladağ (2019-20), Shifting Terrain (2019-20), Elemental Calder (2019-20), Composing Nature: Paul Klee and John Cage (2018), Rebecca Horn (2018) and German Art After 1960 (with Gary Garrels). She lectures and publishes widely on postwar and contemporary art and holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Chicago.
