Jordan Knecht

My bio photo was taken by John Lake on my first visit back to Denver after moving back to Chicago in 2018. In November 2020, I bought a print of this photo for $100 from an arts center’s fundraising sale, just before driving to San Francisco for a 24-hour visit, which coincided with a piece I wrote for SFMOMA. John Lake leant me a camera to use on this trip. Upon returning home, my dad took photos of me using the borrowed camera, with the print of myself in the background. Upon developing, I found out the entire roll of film was blank.

I’m a systems designer, educator, and musician based in Chicago, Illinois,
surfing the wave of unknowing.
