Petrina de Chalus

A Detroit native, Petrina “Trina” de Chalus was introduced to art at a young age. Childhood visits to the Detroit Institute of Arts exposed her to works by Diego Rivera, Alexander Calder, Alberto Giacometti, and Romare Bearden. Trina’s love of people and culture has taken her around the world and led to important roles in the areas of advertising, postproduction photography, custom art framing, merchandising, and interior design. Her return to the Bay Area alongside the birth of her son inspired her decision to explore opportunities in the museum field. She has since served as Director of Retail and Visitor Experience (MoAD); in 2018, she joined the Education and Public Engagement departments at SFMOMA as the Koret Education Center Assistant. Trina is a multifaceted professional with a passion for developing and nurturing interpersonal relationships. She currently resides with her family in Oakland, CA.
