Angelo V. Suárez

Angelo V. Suarez is a poet from Manila working within conceptualism and performance. He argues for artistic autonomy compatible with the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal, anti-bureaucrat capitalist line of the mass movement for national democracy in the Philippines. His recent books include Philippine English: A novel and Ariane: A stock epic. He volunteers for SAKA, an alliance of artists for genuine agrarian reform in the Philippines, as well as for Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (Peasant Movement of the Philippines), while making a living in advertising.
