Dore Bowen, a curator, writer, and associate professor of contemporary art history at San Jose State University, talks about feminist artist Christine Tamblyn, who was Bowen’s teacher at San Francisco State. “Her influence was a bullet in my life. It tore apart the sinews of my existence.”
