Writer, educator, and curator Glen Helfand speaks about Ed Ruscha’s book Thirty-four Parking Lots in Los Angeles from 1967. Helfand, a child of Southern California, finds a certain nostalgic romance in Ruscha’s abstracted take on the suburban California landscape.
