Tuesday after San Valentín — el que se te escapa

there was no plan to excavate but

when it rains a lot is revealed

Sometimes the date and year and place don’t all match up but we remember it how we felt it.

This experiment was one to explore the spacialities in our brain that map love, inform new forms.

For what reason would she have to really tell this story anyway ?

A  small synchronicity of geography to remind us…

            – Mexico

            – “tu sabes que el primer novio mio fue mexicano”

the details: the country, the name, the number of letters written, the lines, the paper, the smell, the dates

and what of that sensational part of love do we struggle to keep?

In the grief that happens when love is loss

Sensation is what we grieve

The further we get from the auricular, tangibles, optics grows el anhelo to get back

Playing with environment and subtitles was meant for recovering senses. Showing pain in words is different than hearing them.

Again, disjointing the picture we start to make out the forms :

The subtitles were first and foremost to provide an attentiveness. The words used, how they land; re-experiencing memories in a new semblance that is deeply intertwined with our identity. They hold up their own agencies in their interactions with the water, the waves, the light, all participating in a demiurgic yearn.

English vs. Spanish

Sound vs. Words

Witnessing Candelaria proclaiming vs. us proclaiming

Enviando un mensaje vs. Receiving the letter

Candelaria vs. Tia

Love to proclaim:

Love you have

Love you want to have

Love you lose

Anywho, initially we asked for directions ’cause we were lost.

Pero ya sabemos que amor de lejos es amor de ……..

  • Andréa Nieto says:

alo Valiente– sabes tienes razon, la distancia muestra fé no? but also theres a fine line between courage and pendejez. Distance, with a commitment moving towards togetherness— commitment as in real action makes the partnership feel secure, I guess the bravery is more in the action of commitment than the distance and speed. Sensational love te apendeja and you don’t even realize that it’s happening until one of you is done. There’s something about the initial excitement we get caught up in and when things fail we tend to blame it on the distance rather than the lack of commitment.

Candelaria’s situation was different, they were robbed of the opportunity to commit.

… no es de pendejos si no de valiente
