My cruising of SFMOMA’s collection was inspired by an essay written by Catherine Lord and published in Frame Work magazine in the early 1990’s. The essay, titled “Looking For My Museum,” is really more of a meandering memoir piece and has been a touchstone for me around many conversations about queer visibility, memory and personal history. — TRC
