News: Cindy Sherman Wears Metallic Blue Sandals

Friday morning I was greeted by the pleasure of something blue and metallic while working at SFMOMA, installing the group show Stage Presence and Cindy Sherman’s upcoming retrospective. During all the morning hustle and bustle I noticed my fellow art installer, Helen, looking inquisitively at something across the fourth-floor landing, beyond the sea of blue crates now barricading the north wing of the gallery. In a slightly reserved but excited voice she told me that, “Cindy Sherman is wearing the coolest blue shoes ever!” I quickly scanned amongst the crates and found the blonde Sherman was indeed wearing the “coolest blue shoes,” metallic blue sandals that had all of us turning our heads while installing art in and around the fourth floor. The lead (Kimberly Walton) for the installation of the Sherman retrospective in response to my Facebook statement on Sherman’s blue sandals noted, “(Sherman) has worn something very past hip every day.”

Included is a photo of the flattered Sherman in her blue shoes.

Thank you, Erin O’Toole, Helen, Kimberly Walton, and Cindy Sherman
