  • I love. LOOOOOOOOOVE the wireframe acrylic box thing. Cool.

  • Vance Maverick says:

Looking at it again, I’m pretty sure we’re seeing a landscape planting in front of a blue wall, lit by footlights and Misrach’s flash. My memory from the show back then is that the photographer (his name meant nothing to me then) had thrust the camera into the shrubbery and clicked, not knowing what would be in the frame. (A bit like Robert Frank’s image of the bar in Gallup, in The Americans.)

  • Hi Vance, you’re welcome! Maybe I’ll do a little reconnaissance and see about that shadow, I spent a lot of time looking at that and enjoying the mystery of it, hoping it was somehow the sky.

@ Scott: they’re coming back in April! This was my secret collection rotation in the meanwhile…xoxox

  • Scott Hewicker says:

    I miss the collection rotations!

  • Vance Maverick says:

Thanks for these — especially the Misrach, which resolves a mystery of memory. I saw this series in Indianapolis in 1982 or 3. At the time I didn’t know what to make of it, but it certainly stuck with me. Now the only puzzle is the shadows cast by the plants — I suppose if these are plantings by a building, that could just be a wall.
